About

Hi! My name is Tynan (Ty) Drake, and I am a graduate of Drexel University with a degree in User Experience and Interaction Design. Through Drexel's co-op program, I have 2+ years of professional experience working as a UX designer.

During my time at Craft Studios, I worked on various projects for clients from startups to global corporations. I primarily worked with Keller Williams, the top real estate firm in North America, leading and supporting agile work streams. I notably led the design of Keller Williams’ premium property landing pages, which received positive feedback from senior leadership and will be available to over 200,000 agents worldwide.

As a UX designer, I specialize in problem-solving. I thrive on solving new challenges by leveraging thorough research and innovative design. My skills span the full UX spectrum, including wireframing and prototyping in Figma, conducting user interviews, synthesizing results, coding in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and more.

Why me?

I am a self-starter & goal-driven person

Goals have always been the core of my personality. I set them for almost everything I do and I intend to reach all of them through the hard work required. This means that I am also a self-starter who is fueled by the milestones that I set for myself.

I have worked with a diverse set of clients

Working at an agency has exposed me to many different scenarios. This has given me experience working across various industries such as real estate, trucking & logistics, tech startups, sports statistics platforms, and more.

I find design as a tool for problem-solving

Solving user problems is one of the most important pieces of UX. I am willing to completely pivot directions to ensure we are sucessfully solving problems. Ideas cost nothing.

In my free time, I play with my demon cat (Sylvia, seen above), cook a recipe I saw on YouTube, watch soccer, get excited making a song, go to the gym, log a film on Letterboxd, try a restaurant in town, vacuum my entire house, learn a song on bass, browse for clothes and never buy anything, listen to a hip-hop album, obsess over another designer's portfolio site and contemplate redesigning my own, and more, and more, and more...
